God the Merciful Father (Church of the Third Millennium)
A ship with sails, so it appears the church “Dives in Misericordia” designed by the ‘American architect Richard Meier.
The three majestic sails in white concrete, high 26 meters lend themselves to a symbolic reading, evoking both the Christian image of the soul as a vessel pointing towards the light of Christ, is the historical significance of the pontificate of John Paul II, representing the Church that ferries the faithful towards the third millennium.
Since 2003, therefore, the popular neighborhood of Tor three heads have been added to this piece of contemporary architecture, designed to keep unchanged its white color thanks to an innovative material with which it is built.
