Civic Museum Tolfa
In the former convent of the Augustinian Fathers adjacent to the church of Sughera the home of the new museum Civic Hall. The newly renovated with funds from the European Union and the Region of Lazio, is divided into two floors: the ground floor which comprises the open spaces of the cloister (the central courtyard with ancient well and colonnaded square) and some rooms used as conference rooms, small bar, store, lift, toilets and more.
In the open position will find the stone fragments of columns, capitals and sculptures from the Abbey of Piantangeli. On the upper floor we find the museum exhibition itself which fits in a number of exhibition halls and outdoor colonnade completely closed with large bright windows, organized on specific didactic and innovative.
Compared to the old post office mussale ground floor of the Town Hall, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the new didactic exhibition space has by far the largest and best organized according to modern and easy to use. In addition, the beautiful setting of the former convent of the Augustinian Fathers is a further reason for the visit historical interest.
You can then see the finds from the excavations of the Etruscan necropolis, the Roman villas of the temple of Grasceta Cavallari, from Piantangeli etc.. further enriched with other furniture, objects and information panels in a temporal path that includes all periods of history in which the territory is rich witness.
