Torre alfina: medieval village and the castle
Torre alfina, hamlet of acquapendente north of Viterbo, is located in a strip of land between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany, it is considered one of the most beautiful towns in Italy.
At 602 meters above sea level, the village offers a 360 degrees the plateau on which it stands.
Torre Alfina is famous for its magnificent medieval castle with mighty towers coated brown stone.
Characteristics of the stone houses of the village around the castle: they constitute a clear architectural evidence of a rural static, which the village has never distanced over the millennia.
Also visit the Museo del Fiore: a natural history museum in the woods of Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve. Inside there is a herbarium where there are kept some hundreds of samples of dried plants divided by environment. There are multimedia stations that allow you to interactively browse the herbarium.
